I was not impressed by this one. I don't remember a single profound thing Sincero said. Most of it was cliched self-help mantras that you get from so many sources. Being a badass seems to consist of making yourself into who you want to be. Sincero's advice is that if you really want something you just go for it. I am not sure that works for everyone.

Louisiana is woken at 3 am by her Granny as they pack up and head out of town. Before she realizes it they have left Florida and entered Georgia. Louisiana isn't happy about leaving home. She misses her friends and her cat and dog. They end up at a motel in a small town in Georgia where Granny has to have her teeth pulled. Louisiana is mostly on her own and ends up making friends with local boy Burke Allen. She tells him all about the curse of sundering on her family and enlists his help when Granny takes off.

Griffin lives with his father tending a lighthouse on the Oregon coast. His mother died a few years ago and it has just been Griffin and his dad. Their peaceful life is interrupted by an alarm going off and the arrival of a team of people in strange outfits. Griffin follows them to the lighthouse and sees his dad get sucked into the glass. Turns out the lighthouse is connected to other worlds; worlds not necessarily friendly to Earth. Griffin manages to follow his dad to the world of Sumi. There he encounters enslaved resisters who bring him into their group.

Mina is eagerly awaiting the hatching of her egg. In this world dragons control different aspects of the weather like rain, snow, wind, sun and lightning. Children are paired with the dragons and control all aspects of the weather. When Pixit hatches and it is revealed he is a lightning dragon Mina's family is skeptical. They can't believe she is fiesty enough for lightning. But soon Mina is at the lightning school learning how to work with Pixit. It is at school that Mina learns some interesting information about what the controlled weather is doing to the lands around them.

Oh how I love this series!

Edmond is just trying to live a normal life despite his growing magic. He is not thrilled when the changling appears. When they are attacked by the evil queen's minions, he agrees to help take back the court. They are followed below by their human sister and assisted by the golem Whick. 

The king and queen are on a hunt to find a bride for Prince Sebastian. Prince Sebastian isn't interested in that; he has found a new seamstress, Frances, and together they make magic. Sebastian's secret is that he likes to dress up in girl clothes. With Frances's designs he can finally go out on the town as Lady Crystallia. Lady Crystallia becomes the toast of the town, but of course that cannot last. 

Accused of treason, Delilah Dirk and Selim travel to England to clear her name. Once there they discover the real traitor is none other Major Merrick. While in her homeland, Selim discovers a side of Delilah he knew nothing about.
This second in the adventures of Delilah Dirk is just as enjoyable as the first. I am eagerly going on to the third!
