Our intrepid heroine chef Peony has been selected from Earth to compete in Space Battle Lunchtime, an intergalactic cooking competition. She is up against some of the best chefs in the galaxy and must find her way among alien ingredients and unfamiliar equipment. She makes it through the first couple of rounds, but will she make it to the finale?

This was super cute and really fun. I loved the cooking show competition aspect of it and the other chefs were interesting. I wish there was just a bit more about the food they create, but I appreciate the chef profiles at the end. This volume ends on a cliffhanger so I will have to wait until volume 2 to find out what happens to Peony.
