In the second book of the Court of Thorns and Roses series we find Feyre returned to the spring court after being brought back to life by the High Lords of all the Courts. She is now fae with a bit of each of the courts powers. She is alive, immortal but profoundly unhappy at the cost of her immortality. Set to marry her love, Tamlin, she is plagued by nightmares and the growing despair at having to give one week a month to the terrifying Rhysland, High Lord of the Night Court. As she is going down the aisle to wed Tamlin, Rhysland appears to take her to fulfill her obligation. There she finds things aren't as bad as she feared. Rhysland wants to enlist her and her powers to convince the Spring Court to work with his court to fend off the war that he knows is coming. The king of Hybern is planning to invade and blow apart the wall between the fae and the humans. Still filled with mistrust for Rhysland, Faeyre returns to the Spring Court but finds it oppressive. Tamlin refuses to let her take part in any planning there is to keep the Court safe. Then one fateful day, he locks her in the house and she falls apart. Traumatized by her capitivity Under the Mountain, Feyre begs for help. Rhysland and his court are ready to comply.

This book is full of action, adventure, romance and magic. I loved it. The first of the series was just ok but when a colleague urged me to read the second, I complied and I am glad I did. I immediately ckecked out the last two because I can't wait to see how the series ends. I did have one concern, and that was that it is labeled a teen book but it is definitely rated R with some very descriptive "romantic" scenes that make me question whether it is should be a teen book. That being said, I can't wait to see what the fate is of all the Courts, Feyre, Rhysland and the rest of the cast of characters.
