Trapped! (Framed #3)
Another fun adventure with Florian and Margaret. This time we got the chance to get to know Marcus better. Also the strain between the kids is stretched to the breaking point over the truth behind Margaret's birth parents. Here's hoping this isn't the last story we get to read about this wonderful group of people.
Through the Woods
This was a truly creepy book to read before Halloween. The black and white illustrations just make it more startling when color appears. These are not your everyday fairy tales or even the normal twisted ones I enjoy.
'It came from the woods. Most strange things do.' Five mysterious, spine-tingling stories follow journeys into (and out of?) the eerie abyss. These chilling tales spring from the macabre imagination of acclaimed and award-winning comic creator Emily Carroll. Come take a walk in the woods and see what awaits you there...

My Favorite Thing is Monsters (Vol. 1)
Since it's the Halloween season and this has been on my list of to-reads for a bit, I decided to dive in for the holiday. Not a bad horror story and the illustrations are great. Very long for a graphic novel, but it was worth the time.
The Last Olympian
Nice conclusion to the Percy series. Sometimes what you think is planned is way off course. Percy believes he is fated to die on or before his 16th birthday, but is ready to sacrifice himself to save New York. However, this final clash isn't all about him. Luke, Annabeth, Grover and many others all play a part in this final clash. Who knows what the future holds when everyone works together. Life will go on or maybe not!
The Bookshop of Yesterdays
If have a normal everyday family, this book probably isn't for you! However, if you like me and realize family is messy, then dive in and enjoy. My favorite quote from this book is very near the end when Miranda's mom is talking about her feelings for her brother Billy. She says, "They were family. You don't have to like your family, you only have to love them." To me this sums up the adventure Miranda has been on and most situations in any family. We can't choose our blood family and they aren't always easy to like, but deep down love of family is always there.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
There were so many things I learned listening to this final book that I want to have a movie marathon and reread the books! Jim Dale's voice shows so many nuances that I missed I almost felt like it was a whole new book. I recommend listening to this series just to hear him. I miss this series as much now as I did when I read it the first time.
The House with a Clock in Its Walls
I enjoyed this book and I can't wait to see the movie. Having this in the back of my mind, I could see character differences from the actors cast, but it didn't make me like the movie any less. Now after I see the movie, I want to look for the other books in this series.
Orphaned Lewis Barnavelt comes to live with his Uncle Jonathan and quickly learns that both his uncle and his next-door neighbor are witches on a quest to discover the terrifying clock ticking within the walls of Jonathan's house. Can the three of them save the world from certain destruction?'

Brave New Pond (Squish #2)
Love a story with a good moral and none better than remembering who your true friends are. Can't say I'm fond of these stories, but there are interesting science facts included with the grade school humor.
Super Amoeba (Squish #1)
Cute story about bullying. Never imagined amoebas as story characters, but they were funny. Guess I will read on in the interest of bonus points.
Queen of the World (Babymouse #1)
This was a cute book. Not a huge mouse fan, but this one is really like any young girl who wants a more exciting life. I will read more because it is our bonus category. Hope the others are entertaining too.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter #6)
Even though I know what is coming in this book, it still hits hard. There is so much happening in this story that is dark and fore-boding, but also such a forecast of the last book. It is fun to see Harry as Quidditch captain and to see the developing relationships. Ready to finish out the series in audio, but may have to take time to re-read them all now.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter #5)
This is an intense story which has very sad parts. I loved listening to it because I caught all kinds things I missed when I read it and things that aren't in the movie. Jim Dale is so amazing to listen to that I am eagerly making my way through the series!
The Battle of the Labyrinth (Percy Jackson and the Olympians #4)
There was so much in this story I didn't remember. I am enjoying this listening experience. Now on to the final book.
Cleopatra's Moon
I wasn't familiar with any stories about Cleopatra's children, so this was quite interesting. I can't imagine what Selene went through just trying to survive. It would be bad enough to lose both of your parents to suicide, but to lose your siblings, including a twin, would be almost to bare. I may have to see if I can find any more about her life.
Delilah Dirk and the Pillars of Hercules (Delilah Dirk #3)
This Delilah Dirk was even better than the last two. I really liked the connections to mythology. Double-crosses and action are rampart and laughter as well. She is a true adventurer!
