Circe
We know Circe from Greek Mythology and from The Odyssey. What Madeline Miller does is reimagine her life from birth to mortality. Circe is the daughter of the Titan Helios. She is raised in the houses of the Titans, unloved and unappreciated. She begs for scraps of attention, but gets nowhere. It is only after she is banished to her deserted island and becomes a witch that she truly becomes the goddess she was meant to be. She is banished for creating Scylla the monster of legend and devourer of men. She meets heroes and gods like Hermes and Athena and Ulysses.
The Hidden Witch
In this sequel to The Witch Boy, Aster and his family are adjusting to his unconventional talent for witchery; unlike the other boys in his family, he isn't a shapeshifter. He's taking classes with his grandmother and helping to keep an eye on his great-uncle whose corrupted magic wreaked havoc on the family.
The Hidden Witch
This sequel to The Witch Boy by Molly Knox Ostertag picks up with Aster finally getting to follow his dream of going to school for witches. He encounters difficulty, however, when he faces some discrimination from the teachers there. Charlie, his best friend who is not a witch, is back in school and befriends a strange new girl who keeps to herself and has many secrets.
I didn't like this one as much as I liked The Witch Boy but I did enjoy it and I think it is worth the time to read, especially if you enjoyed The Witch Boy.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald The Original Screenplay
This was a quick read. I knew the general plan, having seen tons of movie previews, but enjoyed it the same. I want to see the movie since the beasts are always worth viewing. I'm looking forward to see how Rowling is going to continue this story and reconcile it with what we know from the Harry Potter series.
Iron and Magic

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Vol.1: The Crucible
This was not my childhood Sabrina, the teenage witch! Very dark and a bit more horror than I usually like. Not sure I appreciate the very dark witches in this story. I always liked that most of the ones in Sabrina were likable and made me wish being a witch was an honest possibility. Not this group!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
There were so many things I learned listening to this final book that I want to have a movie marathon and reread the books! Jim Dale's voice shows so many nuances that I missed I almost felt like it was a whole new book. I recommend listening to this series just to hear him. I miss this series as much now as I did when I read it the first time.
The House with a Clock in Its Walls
I enjoyed this book and I can't wait to see the movie. Having this in the back of my mind, I could see character differences from the actors cast, but it didn't make me like the movie any less. Now after I see the movie, I want to look for the other books in this series.
Orphaned Lewis Barnavelt comes to live with his Uncle Jonathan and quickly learns that both his uncle and his next-door neighbor are witches on a quest to discover the terrifying clock ticking within the walls of Jonathan's house. Can the three of them save the world from certain destruction?'

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter #6)
Even though I know what is coming in this book, it still hits hard. There is so much happening in this story that is dark and fore-boding, but also such a forecast of the last book. It is fun to see Harry as Quidditch captain and to see the developing relationships. Ready to finish out the series in audio, but may have to take time to re-read them all now.
