The Outsider
After a horrific killing, the police arrest Little League coach Terry Maitland during a ballgame in front of most of the town of Flint City, Oklahoma. A in-depth investigation isn't required, with numerous eyewitness testimonies, blood and DNA samples. Only ... Maitland was with the English faculty of his school at the time with footage and fingerprints to back up his ironclad alibi. The story moves from police procedural to horror as Holly Gibney is brought in to help investigate. A familiar face from King's "Mr.
The Book Jumper
This book was not quite what I expected but I liked it anyway. With my love of books, it would be amazing to have the ability to enter any story at any point and see and experience the story first hand. This story shows how important the smallest things and the basic story ideas are important to the finished product. It would be dangerous to think that one small change would make every copy of the story, no matter where or when, become different or maybe not exist at all. This would be a huge job and maybe not as glorious as it seems at the beginning.
Batman: Prelude to the Wedding
Since I am a huge Batman fan especially when it involves Catwoman, this graphic was a must read. I was slightly disappointed that there wasn't more of the couple, but the collection of stories about the others who would be a part of this wedding were quite intriguing. It was a bit disconcerting to have Robin, Nightwing, and Red Hood in the same set of stories, but understandable too, since they each have a giant place in Batman's life/wedding. I'm going to be on the lookout for the wedding volume.
Redshirts
Andrew Dahl's assignment to the Intrepid, the flagship of the Universal Union's space fleet, made him feel very fortunate ... at first. But something's not quite right in the 25th Century. There's an unusually high number of casualties on away missions, problems are solved by a mysterious Box, and the laws of physics and common sense often seem to be ignored. The only conclusion he and his friends arrive at is preposterous. And to make things right, they will have to go on a rogue mission of their own to the most unlikeliest of places.
Dead City #1
This is an interesting story. I have never been a zombie fan, but this is really a story about a mother and daughter. It is a intriguing view of New York City and I liked the places Molly visits. It is definitely not a job I would want to undertake, but it will be an adventure.
The Hidden Witch
In this sequel to The Witch Boy, Aster and his family are adjusting to his unconventional talent for witchery; unlike the other boys in his family, he isn't a shapeshifter. He's taking classes with his grandmother and helping to keep an eye on his great-uncle whose corrupted magic wreaked havoc on the family.
The House in Poplar Wood
Thirteen-year-old twins Felix and Lee live in the same house, but they are kept separate by the Agreement between the shades Death and Memory. In the west side of Poplar House, where Lee lives with his mother and Memory, there is laughter and fresh baked pie. In the east side, where Felix lives with his father and Death, there is nothing but sadness and cold. Lee is tasked with storing memories in jars tied with colored ribbons. Felix must brew tonics for the sick and dying and collect the life candles that have been snuffed out by Death.
Princess of the Silver Woods
This final book in the trilogy may have been my favorite. Petunia is no shrinking violet and I liked the added Red Riding Hood twist. It would be nice to know a little more about the other 9 sisters, but at least we get a glimpse in this one.
9 From the Nine Worlds (Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard)
This was quick story, but it was a nice addition to the Magnus Chase series. I liked learning more about the supporting characters and more about the Norse legends.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald The Original Screenplay
This was a quick read. I knew the general plan, having seen tons of movie previews, but enjoyed it the same. I want to see the movie since the beasts are always worth viewing. I'm looking forward to see how Rowling is going to continue this story and reconcile it with what we know from the Harry Potter series.
Ogre Enchanted
This was a fun story about wishes, dreams, and desires. Sometimes a person needs to live in another's shoes to truly understand the concept of love, devotion and true friendship. Evie thinks she has her life all mapped out until a fairy named Lucinda turns it upside down. Her best friend Wormy wants more than just being her test subject which results in Evie becoming an ogre with human feelings. It's a twisted tale to find true love, honest friendship, and a meaningful path in life. Along the way you will meet a wide variety of characters, some nice and some not so much.
Wires and Nerves
When rogue packs of wolf-hybrid soldiers threaten the tenuous peace alliance between Earth and Luna, Iko takes it upon herself to hunt down the soldiers' leader. She is soon working with a handsome royal guard who forces her to question everything she knows about love, loyalty, and her own humanity.

Iron and Magic
No day is ordinary in a world where Technology and Magic compete for supremacy…But no matter which force is winning, in the apocalypse, a sword will always work.
The Hidden Witch (Witch Boy #2)
Aster and his family are adjusting to his unconventional talent for witchery; unlike the other boys in his family, he isn't a shapeshifter. He's taking classes with his grandmother and helping to keep an eye on his great-uncle whose corrupted magic wreaked havoc on the family.
Meanwhile, Aster's friend from the non-magical part of town, Charlie, is having problems of her own -- a curse has tried to attach itself to her. She runs to Aster and escapes it, but now the friends must find the source of the curse before more people -- normal and magical alike -- get hurt.
Aquicorn Cove
When Lana and her father return to their seaside hometown to help clear the debris of a storm, the last thing she expects is to discover a colony of Aquicorns—magical seahorse-like residents of the coral reef. As she explores the damaged town and the fabled undersea palace, Lana learns that while she cannot always count on adults to be the guardians she needs, she herself is capable of finding the strength to protect both the ocean, and her own happiness.
