Description

Born at the height of the Jazz Age in America (1927-), Patt Behler has lived to experience unimagined change in her world, a world she fully embraced her entire life. Her care for others and for the world at large has influenced her work as an artist, teacher, and librarian. She holds undergraduate degrees from William Woods College and the University of Kansas, a graduate degree in art education from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, and did further study at the Art Students League in New York City and the Chicago Art Institute, and with several well-known national artists. She earned a graduate degree in library science from the University of Western Ontario. She has worked at the Kansas City Public Library and retired in 1992 from the Missouri State Library after a long career in children's library service. She has been involved in local community organizations and is a founding member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Jefferson CIty.

The exhibit runs through March 31. A public reception for the artist is scheduled for March 16 from 2 to 4pm in the library's art gallery.
