We're celebrating National Library Week, April 23-29, 2023. And YOU'RE invited to join us in Jefferson City or Linn!
At both our Cole and Osage county branches, the week features:
- Food for fines - Every non-perishable food item = $1 for overdue fines
All food collected in Cole County will be donated to the Samaritan Center
All food collected in Osage County will be donated to the Good Shepherd Pantry - Free replacement cards - Normally $1
Special National Library Week Events at the Cole County branch in Jefferson City:
- Kids Art: My Library See children share their ideas of what their children's area would look like in drawings that will be displayed on the 2nd Floor all week!
- Announcements with Director Claudia Young, Monday, April 24 (9-11 a.m.)
Director Claudia will be sharing MRRL's exciting expansion design plans while serving doughnuts and coffee on the main floor. - Library Ambassador of the Year Ceremony, Tuesday April 25 (10 a.m.)
A ceremony honoring this year’s Library Ambassador of the Year, Former Mayor Carrie Tergin, on the main floor. - National Outreach Day, Wednesday, April 26
Join us at the tree in front of the library for a special outdoor story time at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate the bookmobile on National Library Outreach Day. The library's bookmobile will be parked and available to visit. - Patron Appreciation Day in the Library Park, Saturday, April 29 (11 a.m. - 1 p.m.)
MRRL celebrates our patrons in a BIG way with a free hotdog lunch, big games, and musical accompaniment by Those Guys.
Special National Library Week Events at the Osage County branch in Linn:
- Popcorn for Patrons, Monday, April 24 at the circulation desk from noon - 6 p.m.
- Patron Appreciation Day in the Library Park, Saturday, April 29 (11 a.m. - 1 p.m.)
Each patron will be given a hot dog, bag of chips, and a drink to enjoy. Yard games will be set up for younger patrons to play.
