Program Description

Description

Join Mark Schleer, director of University Archives & Ethnic Studies Center, as he discusses the history of Lincoln Institute. From 1866 to 1921, Lincoln Institute served as the forebearer of the current Lincoln University. Founded by members of the United States Colored Infantry to provide education for African Americans, the school transformed its curriculum from basic learning skills to offering college-level courses to those who had previously been denied the opportunity.
