LU-MRRL Lecture: Nature Through a Book

Dr. Jane Frazier, professor of English, will focus her talk on nature and literature for an interactive talk with responses from the audience. She will present topics such as how nature has been seen in literature in the past couple of centuries and how we write about it now. In an age of environmentalism, how have we been writing about the natural world? How did we see it in the 19th and 20th centuries? She will explore this topic from an American and British point of view through poets such as William Wordsworth, Edgar Allan Poe, and W.S. Merwin.
