Franz Schwarzer, a Missourian, became known throughout the United States for his zithers and won a prize in the 1873 Vienna Exposition, thereafter becoming known across most of Europe. Walt Larson, curator of the Washington Historical Society Museum, Missouri, writes about Schwarzer's life and work in a new biography. His presentation will include music and a demonstration of zithers.
