Description

To Jefferson City residents, the Missouri River bridge is a cherished landmark. But at the turn of the 19th century, there was a possibility that the state capital could be moved to Sedalia. Construction of a bridge played a major part in that story, as Wayne Johnson explains in his new book, Jefferson City's First Bridge. Johnson, a retired engineer, spent several years researching the bridge's history, and he will show photos documenting the construction of this impressive structure and comment on his research. His book will be available for sale and signing.
