Missouri River Regional Library Celebrates National Library Week
Missouri River Regional Library will join with libraries across the nation in celebrating National Library Week April 5-10, 2021. This is the 63rd year that libraries have celebrated NLW.
“National Library Week is a chance for us to highlight our impact on the community,” says Claudia Cook, Director. “It is also a great time to celebrate our patrons, and welcome back members of the community who haven’t visited us recently.”

Throughout National Library Week, patrons may use canned food to pay off overdue fines. One can = $1 in fines. All food collected in Cole County will be donated to the Samaritan Center, and food collected in Osage County will be donated to the Good Shepherd Food Pantry.

Guess How Many Books and EBooks in the Library contest

Free books to children 12 and under (child must be present to receive the prize while supplies last).

Returning this year: Library Giving Day!This one-day online fundraising event will occur on Wednesday, April 7th and will encourage patrons and Library lovers to support their library. This campaign reminds us that libraries serve as a cornerstone for our communities. Beyond well-loved books, many libraries offer innovative programs that promote lifelong learning, connect patrons to technology, and advance knowledge. Patrons and Library lovers are able to make a gift in support of MRRL anytime now through April 7th by visiting us at www.mrrl.org.

Wednesday, April 7th is National Outreach Day. There will be a ribbon cutting at the new lockers at Capital Mall at 11:30 a.m. with staff available for a tutorial from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. The Bookmobile will be parked at the mall from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Masks are required on the Bookmobile.

Thursday, April 8th is Patron Appreciation Day There will be popcorn available to thank our patrons for “popping” into the Main Library and Osage County Branch, handed out by the MRRL Friends and Osage County staff.
