Fall Into The Teen Zone
August passed by and September is on its way out. Unbelievably, school has already been in session for several weeks. Teens are now fully committed to schedules of club meetings, study, and sports events. The life of a teen these days almost never slows down! The library has a place specifically for that, though! The Teen Staff at the library understand that everyone needs downtime to relax and reconnect with their friends outside of school. For that purpose, the Teen Zone has comfy furniture and quirky decor made to make teens feel welcome and breathe easy! In the Teen Zone, they can study or read for pleasure at a cozy pub table. Or they can check out one of our many board and card games. Of course, we always have video games if downtime means escaping to a digital reality. The Teen Zone seems to change its mood along with the seasons. While summer can find the Teen Zone bursting with energy, fall brings a more quiet atmosphere. The welcome can be felt from the moment you reach the door!
Of course, there are plenty of planned activities for teens during the fall, too. In September, art and anime enthusiasts met to make some amazing anime glass paintings. These very cool pieces of art were so cool one teen shouted in absolute joy when they saw the finished product. In October, there will be Make It @ MRRL events that include spiderwebs, bats, and string dolls - all very fitting for the season! There are rumors that November might see a live action Oregon Trail! Book clubs, S.A.G.A, Anime Club, Minecraft, and Among Us continue to be monthly activities that give everyone involved time to enjoy life and friends! There aren’t any tests here, though you never stop learning when you hang out at the library. We can’t wait to enjoy fall with you!
