Computer Classes at your Library
For many, the word “library” is synonymous with the word “books.” But if you’ve set foot in a public library recently, you know that libraries are much more than book warehouses. They’re bustling community centers that offer many different forms of entertainment and education, and our computer classes are no exception.
If you’ve ever found yourself lamenting your computer skills, or you want to understand how computers work, or you just want to learn about emerging technologies, you might be interested in the many computer classes offered here at the library. You could sip your coffee in the morning while learning the computer lingo all the kids are using these days. You could spend an afternoon learning about 3D printers, and the 3D prints we offer for purchase. You could join class virtually from the comfort of your home in the evening, learning about how AI is affecting everyday life. All this, again, is offered to you free of charge with your library card.
In addition to all of the technology classes we offer, we can also help you with your specific questions with our 1-on-1 sessions. You can call or email the library at any time, and you’ll be able to schedule a 1-hour private session to talk to one of our technology specialists about your specific technology issue. (Please note we cannot repair any devices or software.)
Say, for example, you are getting frustrated because you’re having issues getting books on your e-reader. This is the perfect time to schedule an appointment with us! We can help you figure out the issue so you can read ebooks to your heart’s content. Just make sure you have a specific question in mind when you contact us. (Saying “I need help with everything to do with computers!” might be tempting, but we unfortunately can’t cover that in an hour. Try asking a particular question!)
We love helping our patrons fulfill their entertainment and educational needs. Luckily, technology classes can accomplish both! Check out our calendar each month to see what exciting classes we have available. Please register for classes by calling the library or registering on our online calendar. And don’t forget, you can always ask to schedule an appointment if you need assistance!
We hope to see you at our next technology class!
