We have a variety of materials and activities designed especially for kids ranging from birth through 5th grade. Drop in to check out the wide variety of books, kits, movies and more, attend a program, or play with the educational toys available in the department. There’s something for every child at MRRL!

Come enjoy Kay (Swyers) Murphy's Wondrous World art show in the Woodland Art Gallery at the Osage County Library from January 7 through March 28, 2026.

For grades 1-5. Secret messages on rubber bands? Put your spy skills to the test by creating and deciphering secret codes made with a variety of materials.

KMOS-MRRL Indie Lens Series: The Tallest Dwarf
This film follows Julie Wyman, a filmmaker, as she searches for her place in the little people community and unpacks dwarfism's impact on her own family.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Yes, you read that right, 1,000 books before kindergarten! Don't worry, you can do this! We're here to help!
Reading Heroes
Reading Heroes is a program providing one-on-one reading enrichment sessions for kids who are enrolled in grades K-2 at the Osage Branch.
STEAM Learning
STEAM-powered fun for kids 6-12 years old! Featuring activities that focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. Check the calendar for the theme of the next STEAM night.
Tail Waggin' Tutors
Bring your favorite book to read to a trained therapy dog (TDI-Therapy Dogs International). Raina and River will be in the Children's department.
Every other Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Educator Resources
MRRL strives to equip local schools, teachers, parents, and students with the resources they need to succeed. Beyond our collections, we provide a number of services to support learning needs both inside and outside of the classroom.
Bike Locks
Need to secure your ride, but don't have a lock? MRRL has bike locks available to use while visiting the Main Library.
Board Games
Board games are available in the Youth Services department for use in the department.
Fishing Poles
Fishing poles and tackleboxes are available for checkout.
Kids' Toys
A variety of toys are available for use in the Osage County Library. See staff to check them out.
Launchpads
Tablets pre-loaded with educational apps that are ideal for learners of all ages.
Preschool Kits
Enjoy storytime in a bag with these themed preschool kits.
Preschool STEAM Kits
