Missouri River Regional Library Annex Offices Relocate
Due to elevated mold counts in the Missouri River Regional Library Annex, the Library staff must relocate. The administrative team will be moving to 308 E. High Ste. 208, while the Tech Services, IT, Adult Services, and Teen Services staff will be relocating into previously public spaces and other staff space in the Main Library.
The Main Library will continue to operate as usual. Donations to the Annual ABLE/MRRL Book Sale will still be able to be dropped off at the Main Library Branch. If you have a large donation, please notify a library staff member so that the donation can be dropped off at the ramp in the back of the Library.
All computer classes will now be held in the Public Computer Center (PCC) area or the Story Hour Room. During classes, the PCC will not be considered a “quiet space.” Hours will be posted at www.mrrl.org and in the building. Other meetings previously held in the Annex will be relocated when possible to the Main Branch. New locations will be publicized at www.mrrl.org.
“Space will be tight in the Library, both in staff spaces and public areas, but we hope that the community will help us by being understanding and flexible. Unfortunately, in order to provide the most resources to the community, we will have to make some sacrifices. The magazine/quiet room will be divided in half to accommodate staff, and the PCC will double as a training area, which means it will not always be quiet” says Claudia Cook, Director. “Space has been an ongoing issue at the Library for many years, but the staff have done their best to be resourceful. Unfortunately, with this development, we have more challenges, and we hope the community can come together to determine a long-term solution.”
Missouri River Regional Library has been serving Cole and Osage Counties for more than 110 years. MRRL provides all the traditional services one expects to find in a library, as well as many digital services and a variety of programs for all ages. The organization extends its reach beyond the library walls with not only eBooks and databases, but also with the bookmobile and outreach services. Visit mrrl.org for more information.
