From food and drink to fuel and manufactured goods, corn is crucial to helping make our lives easier (and tastier). This staple was created through artificial selection and breeding by early indigenous populations in modern-day Mexico, and more recent archaeological evidence has shed light on the complex development of corn. Dr. Christine Boston, assistant professor of anthropology and sociology at Lincoln University, will discuss the origins of and changes in corn, as well as its importance throughout human history and today.
