The Teen Zone!

A place to relax and spend time with friends, that has games, computers, books,
magazines and special programs – the Missouri River Regional Library’s Teen Zone
offers young people all of this and more. It’s all located on the second floor of the library.
“In the Zone, not only do you find helpful staff, you'll find a Wii, a PS2, lots
of games, manga, graphic novels, magazines, new books and it’s a great place to
hang out with friends,” said Courtney Waters, teen services librarian. “We also have
computers reserved just for teen use and tons of the best teen fiction out there.”
The Teen Zone is for all Cole and Osage counties students between the ages of
12 and 18.
Waters has been in charge of the Teen Zone for four years.
“I order all of the teen books, do all the programs and do everything involved
in running the Teen Zone,” Waters said. “I love my job and want to create the most
dynamic experience possible for teens.”
The Teen Zone has a variety of programs and activities that young people can
participate in, including an anime club, reading groups and arts and crafts.
