PLAN TO ATTEND MRRL/ABLE USED BOOK SALE ON MARCH 14 TO MARCH 17
573-634-6064 ext. 247
JEFFERSON CITY – The big day is quickly approaching – the Missouri River Regional Library and ABLE Used Book Sale will take place March 14 through March 17 at the St. Martins Knights of Columbus Hall, Rt. T, Jefferson City.
More than 100,000 items – including hard back books, paperback books, videos, music – will be on sale for bargain prices ranging from 50 cents to $4. Many are current bestsellers in like-new condition.
There will be a variety of hard-to-find items such as old editions of the Official Manual of the State of Missouri, also known as the Blue Book.
All books are donated and proceeds from the sale will benefit the Missouri River Regional Library (MRRL) and Adult Basic Literacy Education (ABLE). ABLE assists adults, in a confidential setting, who cannot read or who need help improving their reading skills. MRRL uses their portion of the funds to buy new materials and to support library services.
Volunteers have been working for months sorting through the thousands of books that have been donated and putting them in boxes to be transported to the St. Martins Knights of Columbus Hall.
On the day of the start of the sale (March 14), customers are expected to be lining up for hours before the 4 p.m. scheduled start. Stocks will be replenished before reopening the following day. On Saturday, the final day, a bag of books will cost only $5.
