JEFFERSON CITY – Over a four day period, thousands of people are expected to attend the Missouri River Regional Library and ABLE Used Book Sale running March 14 through March 17 at the St. Martins Knights of Columbus Hall, Rt. T, Jefferson City.
Hundreds will line up for hours before doors open at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, the first day of the sale.
More than 100,000 items – including hard back books, paperback books, videos, music – will be on sale for bargain prices ranging from 50 cents to $4. Many are current bestsellers in like-new condition.
All books are donated and proceeds from the sale will benefit the Missouri River Regional Library (MRRL) and Adult Basic Literacy Education (ABLE). ABLE assists adults, in a confidential setting, who cannot read or who need help improving their reading skills. MRRL uses their portion of the funds to buy new materials and to support library services.
Doors will open at 4 p.m. on Wednesday (March 14). Stocks will be replenished before reopening the following day. On Saturday, the final day, a bag of books will cost only $5.
