Cultural Concerts, 2012

A Jefferson City summer tradition will be returning to the grounds of the State Capitol when Missouri River Regional Library’s Cultural Concerts kick off on Aug. 10 with a performance by the Krazy Kats.

"Everyone looks forward to these concerts and they are something that the whole family can enjoy,” said Taryn Prewitt, special events coordinator.

There will be three concerts, all held on the south lawn of the State Capitol. The concerts are free and open to the public.

  • Aug. 10 – Krazy Kats, who perform oldies from the 1950s and 1960s.
  • Aug. 24 – Curreykorn, feature a blend of traditional and contemporary bluegrass.
  • Sept. 7 – Michael Terry Group, jazz/blues.

The concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m., and everyone should bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. In the event of inclement weather the concert will be cancelled.
