We’re writing to inform you that beginning October 2, 2012, Missouri River Regional Library is not renewing its subscription to Optimal Resume's software tools. Before then, we’d like to offer you two options for saving the documents you created.
First, you can take the opportunity provided by Optimal Resume to download your documents created with the software and save them to your computer before the date above. Any websites you created would be lost.

Today, September 19th, is Talk Like A Pirate Day. You can spend the day talking like a pirate, or you can come to the library and find out about real pirates (I suppose there is no reason why you can't do both...).

In an article titled, "Local Library's Resources Can Be Better Than The Internet", Ron Crow talks about his conversation with his local librarian. Ron was concerned that the Internet would negatively affect his library, but was assured that while Google might be able to find stuff you know you need, for less well defined information needs, nothing beats a librarian!

Did you know that the Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT) has a Flickr account? They make photos of Missouri bridges, roads and train tracks available to the public under a Creative Commons license (as long as you give them attribution, don't use the photos for commercial purposes and share the photos out as freely as they are sharing them with you, you can use them!

Come into MRRL any day this September and sign up for a new Library Card to get a free book of your choice*. If you smile at the librarian or clerk who helps you get a card, you can pick up a free movie of your choice as well*. The library card is free, the materials are free, the friendly assistance from a librarian is free, the computer use is free and, most of all, the entertainment and education you can pick up at your library is always free.
