Library Director

The Missouri River Regional Library Board (MRRL) seeks energetic, creative & skilled leader to serve as Director of library serving population of 90,000, annual circulation of 628,000, collection of 243,400 items, staff of 59, annual budget of 3.1 million for Cole & Osage counties in Central Missouri. Director is responsible for overall administration & operation of library system which includes main library in Jefferson City, branch library in Linn, & bookmobile. Requirements: MLS/MLIS degree from ALA accredited institution, 10 years professional public library experience; minimum of 5 years supervisory/managerial experience in a public library. Proven fiscal management experience; ability to effectively plan & use library technology; thorough knowledge of public library service & human resource management. Strong work ethic, integrity & commitment to serve as Library’s advocate in community; ability to inspire community support & possess excellent human relations skills. Experience with library building project and levy proposals preferred.
